Apple iPhone

Dylan and I made a life altering decision last night. We switched to AT&T and each got an iPhone. We both have been wanting one forever but never wanted to make the switch. I don't like that we switched from verizon but I guess that's the price we have to pay.

It's really fun and I love that I can just hop on the Internet at anytime. I just hope that I won't regret the switch from verizon.

Oh and did I mention that I am writing this blog from my new phone. Yay!

My Little Car

About the time Dylan and I moved to SLO, my Jetta decided to stop working. It wouldn't go into 3rd or 5th gear. When I took it to the dealer they said there was something wrong with the transmission and that it would be about 2500 dollars to fix. No thank you. We decided to just let it sit at Dylan's parents house since we didn't really need it and I walk to work.

It has been sitting there since February. No one had said anything about it until 2 weeks ago when the County left a note on the car that said it had to be moved and couldn't stay in the same spot for more than 72 hours. We decided that maybe it was finally time to fix it.

The battery was obviously dead since it had been sitting for over 10 months. We had it towed to Trans King in SLO and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. The guy had it for about 2 weeks and said he drove it everywhere and couldn't find anything wrong with it.

So moral of the story is: If your car has something wrong with it, let it sit for 10 months and magically it fixes itself and you save money!

It was so fun to drive today. I missed it. I hate driving Dylan's bus of a car.

Remember Me

So I haven't posted for over 3 months. Not much has happened in the past 3 months, except Dylan and I went on a cruise at the beginning of November. We went to the Mexican Riviera and once I edit the pictures I will post some on here. It was such a fun time and a good relationship builder.

This weekend was really fun. I got to see my friend Cherise who I haven't seen since Easter. It made me miss her even more getting to spend some time with her. I didn't even have a clue as to what has been going on in her life the past 9 months and there was a lot to catch up on. It made me decide that I need to start being a better friend to many people. I don't want to ever have that feeling of not knowing what someone has been going through. Especially when it is something that they have been dealing with for a while.

I also got to meet Gracie. She is the cutest most easy going baby. She was all smiles and definitely gave me some baby fever. I can't believe that I hadn't met her yet. I can't wait till the next time I get to see her again.

Jacqui is getting married this coming weekend and I get to have lunch with her on Wednesday. My last time while she is still a Skipton. I can't wait for her to be married. It is such an amazing life change. Of course there are always the ups and downs but having your best friend there to spend every aspect of your life with is truly amazing.

Anyways, I hope to be blogging more and not let it go another 3 months. I have many pictures to post that will catch you up on my life. Until then....

We had a party today at work for 9-9-09. It started at promptly 9:09 am and it was definitely at 990 Palm St. Any excuse for a party planned by yours truly.

On the news today I saw that people were getting married at the 99 cent store just to get married on 9-9-09. How bizarre. What a great story to tell your children how cheap you are.

Oh and I started watching the show Glee tonight. I'm pretty sure I might just have to stay tuned for the fall season.

But even better than any show on television is How I Met Your Mother. Less than 2 weeks is the season 5 premier on September 21st.

I'm sad because season 4 doesn't come out on dvd until September 29th. Poor planning because I would have like to re-watch it before the new one started.

Who cares though. I'm just excited it's starting again!!!

Double Stuffed

I think I found my weakness. I have been buying double stuffed oreos every time we go to the store lately. They don't last long because Dylan and I eat them like we are starving children in a third world country. I try to skip dinner or something if I am chowing down on them because I am starting to feel like I'm becoming double stuffed. My mid-section is a little more fluffy than I would like it to be and it probably has to do something with all the lard that I am putting into my body. How come a couple of years ago it didn't matter what I ate, I barely fluctuated in my weight? Now I can't lose even a few pounds if I am eating right. I figure if my goal is to gain weight than eating whatever I want will get me there. Let me just embrace my fluffy middle and move on with life.

I will think that way no more. I need to lose some weight and stop gaining. It is starting to get ridiculous. And no matter where I go there is always some sort of chocolate. I walk by the bowl at work all day long and after a while of saying no I can bare it no longer and I have to put a piece in my mouth. Only problem is that is at like 10:00 and I still have 6 hours of work to go. So it never stops at just one tiny piece.

I am determined to lose weight. That is after I finish the double stuffed oreos that we bought at the store today.

Motivated....we'll see.

Woo Hoo

I am so happy that this week is officially over for me. I feel like it has been extremely long and now I get to enjoy a 4 day weekend. As much as the first part of the week sucked, it turned out to be an okay week. I really like the girl who just started and it adds a little more excitement to the office.

I used to talk a lot to my other co-worker, but now between the three of us it is epic. It has been fun but I just have to be careful that my talking doesn't distract other people.

We don't have much planned for the weekend, but next weekend will be busy so it might be nice to just take it easy. We went on a bike ride last night so that might be in the works this weekend. Hopefully, I can get some sewing done and finish some projects. We'll see if my laziness wins out.

Longest Day Of My Life

I hate being taken advantage of at work.

I hate having to talk to a co-worker for over an hour after work just so we can vent and I can come home just a little less frustrated.

I hate when I'm stressed and someone else is sitting back and do nothing. Not to mention I'm doing that person's job.

I hate when I finally ask that person to do something, they debate with me and then go ask a different person to do it.

I hate not feeling appreciated for the work that I do above and beyond my job.

I hate that I can't even tell a supervisor because it's whats expected of me.

I hate that even after I talk to my co-worker about it I have to come and complain to Dylan.

I hate that I feel like I have to vent on a silly blog.

This is why I don't get anything done when I come home at night. I am so tired and exhausted from the day that I just want some good chocolate and to sit in front of a screen for a few hours. Then maybe, just maybe, I'll try to go to bed at a reasonable time just to get up and do it all over again.

Here are some pics of the new do. I still wake up in the morning and wonder what the heck did I do? Every time I have chopped off my hair I went into the salon knowing exactly what I was doing. I love the new cut but I still miss my long hair. I guess I wasn't quite ready to chop it. I know it's just hair but it takes so long for mine to grow and it is so short in the back that it will take forever to grow back out. Maybe I just need to get over the growing out part and just enjoy it as it is. Yes, that's what I will do but until then I will shed a tear missing my long straight boring hair.

Ut oh

My hair disappeared last night.

I had every intention of just getting my hair colored so it finally blended together and just a trim. Little did I know that Jessi would talk me into cutting my hair in an a-line again. It is super cute, the color looks good and she did an amazing job.

The first cut I started freaking out just a wee bit. It was definitely a whim decision. I have been trying to grow it out and I wanted long luscious beautiful hair like the Kardashians. But let's be honest I have no body in my hair and it is like baby thin.

Anyway I am happy with my decision but a little sad that I cut so much off without really thinking it through.

Oh well it will grow back someday and in the meantime I can enjoy my new dew.

Dylan's Surprise For Me

I was home from work today and when Dylan got home he left the door open. I couldn't understand why he wouldn't close the door and then he wheeled in my new bike. We had looked at bike's last week but then we never talked about it again. Well apparently he bought the bike and had it all assembled without me knowing. He even put a lock on his computer so that I couldn't get onto the computer to find out that he had purchased the bike. I was so excited. And I love that it has a basket. Hooray!

And now we are off to my department's picnic. Should be fun and I made magic cookie bars.

Who said I want a kid?

So today I was at Yogurt Creations getting some gift cards for tomorrow. We are having a cooking challenge at work so I am bringing the prizes. Anyways, I walked in and the only other people in there were a young mom and a toddler. The little girl was super cute and she decided that running around the toppings in the middle of the store would be fun. She made a game out of it and thought her mom was chasing her. She came up behind me and grabbed onto my leg. She was holding tight like I was someone she knew and her mom kept apologizing but I'm pretty sure I started ovulating at the thought. Just kidding but seriously I want that. I thought after she looked up she would run to her mom but she just kept holding on and laughing. Her mom tried to pull her off but she just wanted to stay stuck to my leg. My heart melts a little.

Dylan and I are leaving tonight to go to Lake San Antonio with people from his work. It should be fun. I thought since I was so white I would go get a fake bake today just to add a little color. Well I added a lot of color and I look like a tomato. Not really what I was going for. Hopefully, I won't be aching the whole time. I brought lots of sunscreen, aloe vera, and asprin. A great concoction for a good weekend.

Good Weekend

First off it was a 3 day weekend. Hooray, that means I get 3 in a row. My mom and dad came down yesterday and of course I met my mom in Paso to go quilt shopping. The highlight was that this new store just opened called Birch and it is my favorite fabric store! So don't go but really go it was amazing.

Then last night we went to see the Proposal. I have already seen it but nobody else had. It was probably even funnier the 2nd time around. It was a good date movie I must say.

Today we went to Margie's Diner for breakfast then on a whim decided to drive to the Chumash casino. We weren't there much more than an hour. My dad walked out $30.00 on top and Dylan was $27.00 on top. Mom and I lost about $8.00 together. We just played the nickel machines though but it was still fun.

That is about as exciting as our weekend has been. The parents left and now Dylan and I are just chilling at home. I want to go see the fireworks but I would rather stay away from the crowd. I guess we're not that patriotic. But I am doing laundry like a good little wife and my house has stayed clean.

been a while.

Dylan was conditionally accepted into the CHP on Friday and we couldn't be any more stoked. It has been his dream to be in the CHP and he is so close. He just has to go through a few more hoops and then it just depends on how long it takes Sacramento to process all the paperwork.

We went down to Santa Barbara on Friday to celebrate. We stayed at the Harbor View Inn right on State Street and the Harbor. The weather was overcast but it was still beautiful. My favorite part of course was the massage that we got today.

We had to head back because Dylan had a birthday party he had to be at. That left me available to go to the Drive-in with friends. We got to see Up which was super cute. I love Pixar movies. I don't think I have been disappointed yet. And I was stoked because Hannah Montana played second. It was pretty good for being Hannah Montana, but maybe I'm biased since I am all about the Disney Channel.

Dylan leaves for Bakersfield for work on Monday. This is his third week going out of town for 3 days in a row. It seems like he is gone more than at home. But I guess if all the CHP stuff happens I will have to get used to it.

Can you say retarded?

Dylan and I went to Best Buy today so that I could buy Jillian Michaels' Fitness for Wii. While we were there, we decided to peruse the Blu-ray aisle and we noticed that everything was turned backwards. So it was kind of a pain to look through when you couldn't see the front of the dvds. On the other side of the aisle, I heard a lot of commotion going on. There were 2 college-aged guys talking and turning the dvds the wrong way. I asked Dylan if I should go tell the Best Buy guys that were nearby, only because I know that if I worked there I would be pissed to have to go back through and turn everything the right way.

I went up 2 two Best Buy guys and proceeded to tell on the 2 guys turning things the wrong way. Then after I told on the guys, 1 Best Buy guy said, "Oh, we have inventory tonight and those are our guys."

I felt totally stupid afterwards. Dylan kept looking at Blu-Rays and I saw the Best Buy guys walk over to them and I felt really stupid. So I walked away to check out because I knew they were probably telling the guys how this stupid girl had just tattled to them.

Stupid me.

On a different note, is it wrong to want to be like her? I think I'm obsessed.

Tweet Me

I signed up for Twitter today. I don't know why but I thought I must give it a try.

Still Healing

Here is a picture of the tattoo since I know Sarah really wanted to see it. It is still healing so it is dry and I have to keep putting ointment on it. I love it though. I chose the same font that Dylan used for the verse that he got on his side. Otherwise I might have chose something different but it meant more to me this way. And yes, I did show my mom last weekend when I was home. She was disappointed but no tears were shed like last time. She just said I thought you grew up and out of that stage. Hmm....

Who doesn't love a spray tan?

Dylan and I went for the second time to get a spray tan on Tuesday night. He is so funny because he is the one who really has wanted to do it both times. We got one a couple weeks ago and it pretty much faded so back we went for the second time.

Too bad it's been so windy lately because I really wanted to show off my tanned legs. I might just get used to this.

Monday, April 13, 2009

I've always wanted to get another tattoo but never knew that I would actually follow through with it. Dylan got a verse put on his side last Sunday and I was going to finally get my wrist tattooed but there wasn't enough time. I knew that if I walked out that night I probably wouldn't do it. Well, I did. I went back last Thursday and although it hurt way more than my tramp stamp I now have the word grace on my wrist. I had been wearing a bracelet that said grace for a while now and I thought it would be nice to make it permanent and always have the reminder right there.

My mom wasn't too thrilled but she got over it. She just kept saying that she thought I grew up and out of the stage that I used to be in. I guess not.

I love it and even though it hurt it was well worth it in the end.

Quick Update

Dylan and I are doing a lot better than the stuff we were going through the past 2 weeks. I am so happy now and just had to keep reminding myself to look towards the future and not dwell on the moment. Here is a picture from our date night last night.

You Cut Bangs!!!

I forgot to mention that I cut bangs on Wednesday night at like 11:15pm. I just needed to do something for myself. I tried to get a picture but my camera battery died. I will post a pic when that decides to work again.

Lonely, I am so lonely

Whoever said marriage was perfect? Well, Dylan and I are going through a rough patch right now and it is so hard. What first consisted of crying is now just anger. I hate feeling this way but I can't just pretend to be happy and let everything go. This is not what I signed up for. I know that the end product will be happiness again, but this in between time really sucks. I just hope that this time will end quickly and things will be better again soon.

Just Call Me Chef

I decided to be a good wife and really start cooking for my husband. Usually I just make easy stuff that I already know how to make and doesn't take much effort but I consulted my recipe books and found things that I wanted to try for the week.

I went to the store yesterday on my lunch break and got everything I would need for the week. Usually we only plan dinner for like a night or two so that was a huge step.

Last night I made chicken stir-fry over rice and tonight we had chicken with balsamic and garlic. And the best part is they were both edible and delicious. I am reminded again of how much I enjoy cooking. I think this just might be a new establishment in our house.

Oh and Dylan has challenged me to be nice for a whole month. That is really hard for me because usually I can't even go a day without saying something smart or being a pain in the butt. I am on day 9 though and I only had one oopsies this weekend but he said I could have one and next time it starts over.

Good thing he isn't around me all day long because I probably would never have gotten to day two.

PAK Designs

My sister, Andrea, and I have decided to start a blog about the things that we are making so you should consider checking it out every once in a while. I just posted the first blog on there today with what I was working on. It's on my blog list.

Pretty Much Moved In

We finally got our own place in SLO. Hooray! We are living on Palm St like 2 blocks from my work. Last week was so nice. I was able to walk to and from work each day and come home for lunch. It also doesn't take me a half hour to get home anymore so I feel like the night lasts longer and I have more time to get stuff done.

Oh and I totally got the Wii Fit and it makes me happy. It's fun because you don't realize you are exercising.
